First they came for the socialists, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me.

on the way to get a new laptop charger

the nice thing about books is that they can be folded and creased and flung about, sat on and squashed into bags and eased under uneven table legs, and fished out of puddles and torn and retaped and then they might be really unsightly but they remain intact and readable still. on the other hand laptops may be gorgeous shiny things but all it takes is one unfortunate run-in with a revolving rocking sofa and then GOODBYE CHARGER. why am i so destructive with all my gadgety things sighhhh

today i

tutored, changed money, staggered home, slept, ran a fever, slept some more, had lunch, and now i’m going to sleep again.

thank goodness i cancelled my music lesson and second tutoring sesson in the afternoon, i was a wreck after my morning lesson and i don’t think i would’ve made it through the day in this condition.

i’m whining because i’m sick and i hate being sick

this week has been a mixed bundle of blessings and curses. on the positive side: friendly class, efficient people, great group. the negative: exhaustion induced not only by module-related things but also multiple other commitments. only when i get a few minutes to sit down does it hit me how exhausted i feel, how badly my throat hurts, and how nauseous i feel. have just seen the doctor and waiting to pay now - i hope the antibiotics he promised me will help, and quickly. i need all my strength to deal with the next few days of intense preparation, and to fully enjoy my trip in japan in a week :(
